WIAB (Wiener Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Bildungsforschung) = Viennese Institute for Labour Market and Education Research

WIAB is a private organisation providing research and consultancy to public institutions, enterprises and (international) organisations in the field of labour market, gender, and education research. WIAB combines the scientific expertise and knowledge in the field of labour market, education, and gender research with the service quality of a business consultancy. It has vast expertise in the analysis of skills gaps between education and labour market. 

Furthermore, WIAB is specialized in occupational profile, skills, learning outcomes and training program descriptions and has a lot of know-how in the field of European transparency standards, quality assurance for the validation of vocational skills and for online training programs. WIAB has vast experience in the development of quality management systems and offers consultancy to European networks such as Climate-KIC and is partner in several Erasmus+ projects. It also supports the consideration of European dimensions by e.g., ensuring that learning outcomes for qualifications are described in accordance with European standards such as EQF, ECVET and EQAVET, and that occupational profile descriptions are in line with ESCO.

Role in the project

Within the NECTAR-project, WIAB will lead WP8, managing Quality Assurance with respect to the project results and in line with EQAVET standards. In WP6, WIAB will lead the evaluation of the pilots and will plan and design feedback loops. Furthermore, in WP2 and WP3 WIAB will assure the compliance of the Chef Gastro Engineering (CGE) Occupational Profile and the CGE EU Curriculum to EU standards. In WP7 it will promote the integration of CGE Occupational Profile in ESCO and the publication in EU Skills Panorama.
